Swindon Town FC adopted mobile ticketing towards the end of the 2008 season. Mobile tickets at discounted rates were made available to supporters to buy through the web site and a mobile internet site: a WAP link was sent if supporters sent the keyword STFC to 82500 or they visited the club web site (www.swindontownfc.co.uk). Specific sections of the stadium were designated as mobile ticket areas with numbered seats allocated to supporters who bought mobile tickets. Special half- half-priced tickets were made available for those too late to see the start of the game or who thought that the game looked interesting and wanted to see the second half live.
