In association with CDT (Concept Data Technology) Trinity supplied Arriva with a complete end-to-end mobile ticket service for its bus services on routes in East London in 2008 and 2009. Passengers could purchase tickets and charge up an account via their mobile, board a bus and scan a mobile barcode that was sent directly to their phone on an integrated mobile barcode and RFID/NFC reader supplied exclusively by Trinity Mobile. The passenger then scanned when they got off the bus and their account would then be debited the appropriate amount. This project was the first phase in a comprehensive roll-out of mobile ticket solutions by Arriva.
